The Hotel Hechl is a sporty 3-star hotel with 4-star comfort in the midst of the splendid mountains of the Styrian Salzkammergut. Located directly in the centre of the village, our friendly hotel features our own alp lodge which is a 40-minute walk away from the hotel in an exceptionally beautiful mountain area. We offer also a shuttle service to this mountain hut.

The hotel "Der Hechl" offers a lot of facilities, including a heated outside swimming pool, a tennis court and a spa with steam bath, sauna and hot whirlpool.

New this summer:
Our own tennis academy, energy treatments and golf offers.

You still have the possibility to receive classic massages at the hotel as well.

Room Information

Double rooms are about 22 to 25 m² in size and are traditionally furnished. Most have a balcony.
Family apartments consist of two separate rooms. Bath and toilet are separate.
Studios are around 33 m² in size and feature a sitting corner and a big balcony. Bath and toilet are separate.

Food & Beverage

We cook traditional food. The half-board includes breakfast buffet, a 4-course dinner (you can choose from among 3 main courses) and a big salad buffet. We also have an à la carte restaurant.

Area Information

The area surrounding Tauplitz offers many possibilities for active recreation in summer as well as in winter. In many places you can get wonderful impressions of nature, e.g. Kulm or Liglloch.
There are also many stunning mountain lakes, and you can book boatrides to admire their beauty.
The Tauplitzalm is the biggest lake plateau in Europe. We also offer guided hiking tours through the beautiful mountains around Tauplitz. The surrounding area around Tauplitz is also ideal for mountainbiking, rafting, and canyoning.
